Job Description
Summary/Objective The process tech position sets up and processes plastic injection molds. Our facility has a wide range of machine types and sizes, as well as varying auxiliary equipment including robotics, conveyors, thermolators, etc. This position requires you to work with these different types of machinery during the setup of the mold, while processing startup parts and throughout the entire production run as you are troubleshooting. Essential Functions Sets up molds in 20 to 1,100 ton injection molding presses Works with manual and fully electronic control panels Sets up and programs auxiliary equipment Performs part changeovers while mold is in the press Prints production paperwork and documents machine adjustments Organizes and sets up workstations in manufacturing areas Assists in conducting mold tool trials Works with supervision on setup productivity improvement projects Performs general housekeeping duties to keep your work area and the company neat and organized Follows all safety policies and procedures Performs all other duties as directed, requested or assigned by the supervisor Competencies Communication Decision Making Initiative Teamwork Technical Capacity Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. At times, fumes from burnt plastic may be present. The noise level in the work environment can be moderately loud. Physical Demands The employee is required to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. It is possible the employee will need to stoop, kneel, or crouch down. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 35 pounds. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Steinwall runs a 10x4 model (10 hour days, 4 days a week). The hours for this position are 4:00 pm - 2:30 am, Monday-Thursday. Travel No travel is expected for this position.
