Batch Mixer Job Description The primary responsibilities of this role include safely and efficiently operating and maintaining the continuous performance of spice blend production processes. You will support quality assurance activities and ensure the timely completion of all required production documentation. Duties also include taking samples, making blends, recording and reporting accurate measurements and counts, troubleshooting and maintaining equipment, as well as loading and unloading blenders. Responsibilities Pre-weigh ingredients for each spice blend. Follow proper instructions on blend recipes and batch tickets to ensure products are consistently safe and of superior quality. Safely operate mixing and product delivering equipment. Manage all assembly, disassembly, operations, and record keeping of all blending equipment including scales, blenders, sifters, magnets, metal detectors, and hoppers. Prepare equipment for runs including proper safety checks and documentation. Load materials into blenders and perform pack-off of finished products for all batch productions. Follow product changeovers, pack size changes, and cleaning procedures between runs. Maintain production areas in a proper state of cleanliness and follow all documented processes and procedures. Assist in preventative maintenance procedures. Take initiative to organize and accurately perform all job functions required to meet the volume and quality of product scheduled. Take action necessary to ensure continuous product flow. Assist with troubleshooting system problems. Complete required production reports. Communicate clearly with others in quality assurance, warehouse, packaging, and support positions. Safely operate forklift and pallet jack to move materials. Coordinate system cleaning so that work is done efficiently and correctly. Adhere to all safety, operating, Safe Quality Food (SQF), and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies. Support and assist with other production and warehouse tasks as needed. Essential Skills Experience in assembly, changeovers, troubleshooting, and disassembling. Certified forklift operator. Knowledge of production, warehouse production, and batch mixing. Ability to read and interpret documents. Proficiency in addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division for efficient materials management and production. Additional Skills & Qualifications Ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms regularly. Ability to lift and move up to 55 pounds. Why Work Here? Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
