Full Job Description Overview:
Hayward Holdings Inc. (NYSE "HAYW") is the largest manufacturer of residential swimming pool equipment in the world, with a significant presence in the commercial pool market that is continuously growing. Hayward designs, manufactures, and markets a full line of residential and commercial pool and spa equipment including pumps, filters, heating, cleaners, salt chlorinators, automation, lighting, safety, flow control and energy solutions at our company owned facilities. Headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, Hayward also has facilities in Tennessee, Arizona, and Rhode Island as well as Canada, Spain, France, Australia, and China. This position is based in Clemmons, NC. This position is 3rd shift, 10:45pm - 7:00am.
Position Overview:
To achieve optimum process operating conditions for the manufacture of sand filters and other blow molded products.
Responsibilities:
Direct all technical aspects of the blow molding processes used to produce sand filters. This includes blow mold setup and changeovers, troubleshooting processes, secondary equipment setup, quality verification, etc. Perform mold, tooling, and color changes in accordance with standardized procedures. Make recommendations to improve the changeover effectiveness (i.e. quick mold change, safety improvements, better tools, etc.). Insure that all machines are operating at standard cycle times and operating efficiencies, as well as producing quality parts. Make adjustments as needed. Notify shift supervisor, shift lead person and/or department manager when unable to achieve standard molding cycle times, assembly takt times or quality requirements. Insure that material grinders are operating properly and cleaned out thoroughly when making a color change. Insure that dust collection bags are emptied weekly and fines filters each vacuum system cleaned. Insure that all materials are blended to the proper ratios in accordance with the current Bill of Material; monitor the blending process for compliance. Troubleshoot machine breakdowns (molding machines, secondary equipment, material handling equipment, grinders, etc.). Obtain support as needed (maintenance, engineering, etc.) in a timely manner such that downtime is minimized. Perform Total Productive maintenance on all assigned equipment; assist the Maintenance Department with Preventive Maintenance as needed. Assist in the training of blow molding operators and other personnel relative to quality, safety, operations, policies, and procedures. Monitor setup tools and supplies and notify Shift Supervisor or member of management when tools/supplies are needed. Support all Kaizen activities and processes. Serve on Kaizen teams and play an instrumental role in implementation of Kaizen methodologies. Develop and maintain good working relations with other departments, outside vendors, and all others that interact with the department. Insure good housekeeping. Understand and adhere to all company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by the Shift Leader or member of management.
Qualifications:
Must possess good leadership skills, be a self-starter and have good math skills. Good communication skills are needed with the ability to train other personnel. Reliable attendance record is required.
Education and Experience:
Associates degree or vocational certification in Industrial technology, plastics processing, or related field preferred. Experience in plastics processing, blow molding, injection molding and computer applications is highly desired.
Physical Requirements:
Must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. Job requires walking, lifting, climbing, and the ability to operate power and hand tools.
Work Environment:
Typical manufacturing environment accompanied by noise (earplugs required), dust, moving machinery, forklift, pedestrian traffic, etc. Safety glasses must be worn when on the plant floor. #LI-KM1
