Job Description
Position Summary:
The Mold Setup TechnicianI is responsible for preparing injection molds and injection molding equipment for production runs or storage. Additional duties include injection molding machine (IMM) maintenance, creating work instructions, contributing to manufacturing improvement projects. Other duties as assigned.Job Responsibilities:
Disassemble and assemble molds for production or preventive maintenance (PM). Installation and removal of molds in IMMs. Setup/changeover troubleshooting of peripheral machinery and equipment (i.e. dryers, conveyors, temp controllers, etc.). Prep and stage raw materials at necessary production cells. Load process parameters and verify completion of setups. IMM start-up/shutdown. Coordinate with Quality department for the approval of first run samples. Fill out daily production run documentation. Document any parameter changes. Back-up operators as needed for short intervals. Actively participate and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Take ownership of workspace safety and cleanliness - organize tools. Work with the production manager to prioritize tasks according to the production and project schedule. Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities): Read, understand, and create work instructions. Root cause analysis of quality issues. Strong skills in dexterity working with precision tooling - enjoy working with hands. Mechanically inclined. Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Able to communicate effectively using MS Outlook. Have an interest in pursuing injection molding process development. Preferred Education/Training/Experience 1-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. High school diploma or equivalent required. Equivalent combination of education and experience considered. Pay based on injection molding experience.Travel Requirements:
