Process Technician (Second Shift) Zaas Global Akron, OH Job Details Full-time $26 - $30 an hour 6 hours ago Qualifications Machine setup Interpersonal skills Tooling Injection (injection molding) Shift management High school diploma or GED Full Job Description Process Technician — (Second Shift) Position summary: Provide technical support on the production floor to develop, optimize, and troubleshoot injection-molding processes. Train and oversee mold setters/processors and level 2 operators, lead mold qualifications and pilot runs, ensure accurate production paperwork, and act as shift lead when needed.
Key responsibilities:
Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot injection-molding processes for engineered and commodity resins. Train operators and material handlers on processing techniques, machine controls, auxiliary equipment, and data capture. Run new mold qualifications and pilot runs to establish repeatable processes. Monitor cycle times, scrap, and production counts; recommend improvements to increase efficiency and reduce defects. Review and supervise daily work of mold setters/processors; coach for efficiency and accuracy. Identify tooling issues during start-ups and report to engineering or tooling specialists. Ensure completion and retention of all setup/start-up paperwork per SOPs and ISO requirements. Maintain organized process data (digital and physical media) and recommend equipment/materials to speed changeovers. Serve as acting shift foreman in the foreman's absence. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience in injection molding, mold tryouts, and process troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of mold set-ups, machine controls, gas-assist systems, resins, and auxiliary equipment. Good verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to lift 25+ lbs, work on your feet, and perform physically demanding tasks safely. Willingness to work second shift, overtime, and other shifts as needed.
Pay:
$26.00 - $30.00 per hour
