Job Description
Plastic injection Die Setter/Process Technician Job Summary A plastic injection Mold Setter/Process Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring plastic injection molding machines, ensuring high-quality plastic parts are produced by troubleshooting issues, adjusting machine parameters, performing quality checks, and maintaining the equipment according to established procedures. Duties
- Machine set up: Loading molds into the press, adjusting machine settings based on product specifications and material properties.
Troubleshooting:
Identifying and resolving issues with the molding process, including material flow problems, mold misalignment, and machine malfunctions.Mold Changes:
Switching out molds on the machine to produce different parts efficiently.Material Handling:
Loading and managing plastic resin pellets, ensuring proper material feed and consistency.Quality:
Inspecting molded parts for defects like flash, sink marks, and dimensional accuracy using measuring tools like calipers and gauges. Work with the Quality department to ensure customer requirements are being met.Documentation:
Recording press data, quality checks, and maintenance logs.- Report all issues to the Production Manager.
- Train operators on how to run molds at start up. Experience
- Prior experience in processing molding machines; 3-5 years
- Hands-on processing skills include new mold startups, sampling, troubleshooting, optimizing cycle time and setups.
- Understanding of plastic injection molding principles and processes
- Familiarity with different plastic materials and their properties
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Proficiency in using measuring tools and quality control techniques Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills, basic computer literacy for data entry and monitoring systems
- Robot programming is a plus
- Run injection mold presses as needed to ensure customer demand in met
- Good housekeeping skills
Work Environment:
Manufacturing facility with industrial machinery, often in a fast-paced production environment. Exposure to noise and heat from operating equipment. May require standing for extended periods and lifting heavy components.Job Type:
