Injection Mold Press Technician Job Description This role focuses on setting up, starting up, and maintaining injection molding machines used in precision connector manufacturing. You will handle both mold setup and teardown, perform machine operation, and make process adjustments to ensure consistent, high-quality production. The position is hands-on and combines technical setup, process control, troubleshooting, and documentation in a clean, high-tech manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Set up and tear down injection molds and secondary equipment for production runs. Start up injection molding machines and ensure production runs to established standards. Adjust machine parameters and tooling to maintain consistent part quality and output. Perform first piece inspections and in-process quality checks to verify conformance. Maintain accurate production documentation, including logs, setup sheets, and repair tags. Identify and report mold, tooling, or machine issues to the Tool Room or appropriate support teams. Clean and inspect molds and tooling after production runs to ensure readiness for future jobs. Perform minor troubleshooting on machines and processes to support continuous production. Work with both horizontal and vertical molding presses and participate in process adjustments and production startups. Follow all safety, quality, and process procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work area. Collaborate with tool room, maintenance, and production teams to support overall production flow. Assist with additional production tasks and operational needs as required to meet schedule and quality targets. Essential Skills Experience setting up and tearing down injection molding machines. Proven ability to start up and dial in production jobs on injection molding equipment. Hands-on experience performing process adjustments to maintain part quality. Willingness and ability to both set up and operate injection molding machines. Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and technical documents or process sheets. Experience performing first piece inspections and in-process quality checks. Comfort documenting production logs, setup parameters, and repair tags accurately. Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated troubleshooting ability in a manufacturing environment. Experience working with injection molding machines and related tooling in a production setting. Comfort working in a hands-on technical role that involves setup, processing, and machine operation. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with Cincinnati injection molding machines. Experience with Arburg injection molding machines, including vertical and horizontal presses. Background working with both horizontal and vertical molding presses. Experience working in low tonnage molding environments in the 10T-50T range. Technical training, vocational schooling, or an associate degree in a related technical field. Experience working with connectors or precision components in a manufacturing setting. Experience maintaining molds and tooling, including cleaning and inspection after production runs. Familiarity with precision manufacturing processes and high-performance connector production. Comfort working with smaller tonnage molding equipment compared to large molding operations. You will collaborate closely with tool room, maintenance, and production teams and are expected to remain flexible to support production flow across different machines and processes. Work is performed on structured shifts, with defined first and second shift hours, in a setting that emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to established process procedures. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Painesville, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
