This role is hands-on and responsible for the repair and maintenance of plastic injection molds. The successful candidate should have at least three years of hands on experience and a strong mechanical aptitude. Reporting to the Tooling Manager they will perform grinding, polishing, and precision fitting of die components, and complete mold repairs to restore optimal performance. The technician must accurately document mold repair activities and procedures, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Polishing molds up to a A2 (Grade A) finish Refitting parting lines Plastic injection mold assembly Troubleshoot and repair hot runner systems General machine work: Bridgeport Lathe Surface grinder Welding helpful but not necessary: Tig Mig Laser General maintenance and repairs of plastic injection molds
JOB REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent. Three years of mold tooling experience; (willing to train if candidates present strong mechanical background) Ability to use hand tools to adjust equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Open air tooling department Humidity level may be elevated during summer months. Work closely with maintenance, production, and plant manager. Exposure to loud noise levels, at times
