PRODUCTION WORKER

Pacer Industries, Inc. Coatesville, PA $27.00 per hour Full-time position - 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, some overtime available Pacer has been in business for 46 years. It makes large grinding wheels for the steel industry. It also converts solid natural rubber from Indonesia into liquid which it sells to tire and other companies. The nearly 50,000 sq ft building is bright and new. It is located on a 23-acre, semi-rural property two miles west of Coatesville toward Parkesburg. The company is growing and an additional employee is needed to help with grinding wheel production. Prior experience is not required. We will train and the training time per task is relatively short.

Job Description:

Weigh six raw materials for grinding wheel mixes. Operate two mixing and two screening machines to make the mixes. Weigh certain amounts of mix for different sizes of wheels. Lift steel mold from a cart and place it onto motorized turntable. Separate the mold components. Spray them with mold release. Reassemble mold components. Fill mold with mix using vibratory pan feeder. Push mold into hydraulic press. Press start button to compress the mold. Place mold onto steel oven cart. Later, place the molds and cart in oven for curing. Remove cart from oven next day. Strip wheels from molds using hydraulic machine. Place molds onto storage carts from which they came. Roll wheels to next area for the finishing operation on a CNC vertical lathe. All lifting is done with easy to use electric cranes. Other daily tasks may include one or more of the following: Get raw materials from warehouse and put them into bins or fiber drums. Examine production order forms to choose which wheels to make that day. Write onto a calendar form which wheels were put in oven that day. Communicate with supervisor about any problems or suggestions. Help with machine maintenance and improvements when needed.

Employee Requirements:

Sufficiently mechanically inclined and skilled to operate industrial machinery. Good attention to detail so mixes are made properly and molds are set up correctly. Several years of experience in factory work is preferred. Able to lift, pull or push 50 pounds. Personal cranes and lifts also are available. Good, continuous work record with some job detail noted on resume. Have an automobile and valid driver's license. Live relatively near to factory, within about 30 minutes. Able to work the hours described above and maintain excellent attendance. High school diploma or GED.
