The Manufacturing / Crystal Growth Technician is responsible for ensuring products meet customer and internal quality requirements through precise measuring, preparation, processing, and documentation procedures. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to operate production and laboratory equipment, and the capability to work independently with minimal supervision after training. Technicians will support manufacturing and crystal growth operations involving powders, furnaces, crucibles, presses, mills, and related processing equipment while maintaining accurate records and adhering to all safety and quality procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Weigh, measure, mix, and process powders according to specifications and work instructions.
  • Prepare, clean, weigh, and inspect crucibles for furnace operations.
  • Operate and clean production equipment including furnaces, mills, presses, sieves, crucibles, and related manufacturing machinery.
  • Peel crucibles after furnace runs and clean associated metal parts and equipment.
  • Perform laboratory and quality tests such as particle size analysis, loss on ignition (LOI), XRD, and BET testing.
  • Use measuring and inspection tools including calipers, micrometers, scales, and inspection microscopes.
  • Maintain accurate production records, work orders, reports, and process documentation.
  • Utilize Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and reporting.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times in designated work areas.
  • Promptly report accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, coworkers, and Quality Control personnel.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to manufacturing and quality systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or
Experience Education:
A high school diploma is required. Manufacturing experience preferred; 3+ years in a manufacturing environment is a plus. Experience in using precision measuring instruments and laboratory equipment preferred.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Basic to intermediate shop math skills. Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend basic English. Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently with minimal supervision. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to use and read measuring tools and devices Self-motivated, dependable, punctual, and safety-oriented mindset. Ability to work occasional overtime to meet operational deadlines
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
/Work Environment This job will be performed in a Manufacturing Environment. Physical - Must be able to manipulate parts weighing up to 50 lbs.
Pay:
$22.00 - $24.00 per hour
