Injection Mold Maintenance Machinists in Maryville, TN. Are you a hands-on problem solver who loves precision work, machining, and building high-quality parts from the ground up? Smith & Wesson is looking for a skilled Machinist with prior experience to join their team.
What You'll Do:
Perform injection mold maintenance , including teardown, cleaning, inspection, and repair. Use manual machining equipment —surface grinders, lathes, mills, ProtoTRAK controls, and more—to create and modify tooling, fixtures, components, and prototype parts. Work directly from engineering drawings and concepts to machine raw materials into precise finished parts. Read blueprints and use precision measuring tools to ensure every part meets quality standards. Create accurate angles, radii, and precision features to produce high-quality tooling. Partner with production teams to troubleshoot machining issues and equipment concerns.
Requirements of this role:
Experience with manual machining equipment (mills, lathes, grinders, etc.). Basic CNC mill/lathe operation knowledge. Ability to read blueprints and use measuring devices accurately. Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset. Ability to take a concept from idea → machined part → final assembly. Willingness to learn and grow in injection mold maintenance.
