This role emphasizes technical leadership, maintenance, and repair of high-speed mechanical and electrical systems, factory automation, and robotics. The technician manages equipment breakdowns, provides guidance to team members, and supports shift supervisors in maintaining peak production performance. What You'll Do Assign and oversee maintenance tasks, ensuring timely completion and adherence to key performance indicators Conduct performance audits on 5S practices, workmanship quality, job site cleanliness, and time management while providing actionable feedback Implement and maintain escalation protocols for urgent equipment issues to minimize downtime Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on complex industrial and mechanical systems, including major repairs, rebuilds, and installations Collaborate with process and equipment engineering teams to enhance equipment reliability and optimize maintenance procedures Manage and optimize inventory of parts and supplies, including procurement, sourcing, and stock control What You'll Bring Proven proficiency in mechanical and pneumatic systems Minimum 3 years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, or equivalent technical training Advanced problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to diagnose root causes and implement effective long-term solutions Ability to read, interpret, and apply detailed mechanical and electrical schematics while performing precise measurements and adjustments Strong commitment to safety, maintenance protocols, and quality standards Physically capable of performing demanding tasks in confined or challenging environments Essential Physical Demands Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing Potential exposure to confined spaces, elevated heat and hazardous materials Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, bump caps, arm protection, hearing protection, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines Compensation and Benefits Benefits Along with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire: Medical plans > plan options with $0 payroll deduction Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contribution Company Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSA Healthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) 401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefits Company paid Basic Life, AD&D Short-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period) Employee Assistance Program Sick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid Holidays Back-up childcare and parenting support resources Voluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insurance Weight Loss and Tobacco Cessation Programs Tesla Babies program Commuter benefits Employee discounts and perks program Tesla is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer committed to diversity in the workplace.
