Overview Join our dynamic team as a Hay Grinder Operator and play a vital role in transforming raw hay into high-quality feed and biomass products. This energetic position involves operating heavy machinery with precision, ensuring efficient processing, and maintaining safety standards in outdoor manufacturing environments. Duties Operate hay grinding machinery and material handling equipment such as front loaders and trucks to process hay efficiently. Manage recyclable materials handling and ensure proper sorting, grinding, and processing of hay and other organic waste streams. Maintain safety protocols by using personal protective equipment (PPE), adhering to hazardous materials regulations, and following safety regulations during all operations. Conduct routine inspections of equipment, perform minor mechanical adjustments, and coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs to minimize downtime. Support heavy lifting activities safely while managing outdoor work conditions, ensuring the cleanliness of work areas and equipment. Document operational activities accurately, including equipment maintenance records. Experience At least 1 year experience running a hay grinder. Proven experience operating heavy machinery such as loaders and hay grinders, or similar material handling equipment in outdoor environments. Strong mechanical knowledge related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance. Prior experience working outdoors in physically demanding environments with an emphasis on safety protocol adherence.
