About the Role As a Maintenance Planning Specialist, you will serve as the backbone of our operational efficiency by coordinating complex maintenance workflows and optimizing resource allocation. You will leverage your technical expertise to transform work requests into actionable plans, ensuring our facility equipment operates at peak performance through proactive scheduling and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Analyze work requests to define scope, labor requirements, and necessary materials for efficient job execution. Manage the maintenance backlog to ensure high-priority tasks are addressed promptly and effectively. Coordinate with production teams to align maintenance schedules with operational goals, minimizing downtime. Utilize CMMS software to track maintenance metrics, generate reports, and maintain accurate equipment histories. Develop and refine comprehensive job plans to improve technician productivity and safety. Train staff on system best practices to ensure data integrity and operational consistency. Verify the availability of parts, specialized tools, and technical documentation prior to job commencement. Qualifications Required Skills Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience. 1-3 years of experience in maintenance planning or 5+ years in a machine repair role. Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude with the ability to interpret technical schematics. Proficiency in CMMS platforms and Microsoft Office suite. Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration. Preferred Skills Professional certifications such as CMRP, Green Belt, or STS. Demonstrated experience in project management or capital improvement initiatives. Strong desire to grow into leadership and strategic planning roles. Proven ability to facilitate meetings and present maintenance data to stakeholders.
