You'll gain hands-on experience in food production while contributing to our team's success. Over 10-12 weeks, as the Continuous Improvement Intern, you'll work in our processing plant located in Mount Olive, NC. The Continuous Improvement Intern will have the opportunity to work directly with plant teams, analyze operational data, participate in problem-solving activities, and help implement improvements that support daily operations. You will learn how data-driven decision making, standardization, employee engagement, and process improvement comes together to create lasting results. What You'll Do Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, efficiency, and waste reduction. Assist with root cause analysis activities using tools such as 5 Whys and Fishbone diagrams. Support daily management systems, including Tier meetings, visual performance boards, action tracking, and improvement validation. Assist with process documentation, standard work updates, visual controls, and operating procedure development. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and sustain process improvements. Present findings, recommendations, and project results to plant leadership and other stakeholders. What you'll get: Hands-on experience and professional development. You'll need to be a team player, ready to roll up your sleeves and get things done. Think you have what it takes to make a delicious difference? Pursuing a Bachelors, or Masters degree in Engineering, Agribusiness, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics or a related field with an expected graduation date of December 2027 through June 2029. All participants in this program are required to have a valid drivers' license and reliable transportation to and from work. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent interpersonal skills. Creative problem solving and critical thinking. Effective communication, both written and oral. Working cross functionally with team members of all levels. Strong attention to detail, data analysis, and reporting skills, strong organizational and time management skills. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, hear, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate equipment, computer, telephone, keyboard, and occasionally climb and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus. Working Conditions & Travel Requirements Work will be performed in a manufacturing plant environment with varying conditions, such as cold areas, wet areas, warm areas, chemicals, and other site conditions. This position requires the individual to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing environment.
