This position works with direction provided by the Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance Lead via Preventative Maintenance work orders or through other written/verbal communications. Generally, the product is discussed with the maintenance staff upon assignment. Supervisor and/or peers are available for consultation and assistance when needed. Responsibilities Follow all Safe Quality Food (SQF), Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) & Safety rules & guidelines. Analyze mechanical & operational problems on assigned equipment. Plan for & take corrective action. Make necessary corrections & running adjustments to maintain maximum production & quality while production is performing. Assist with equipment installation & disassembly. Ensure processing equipment & lines are operational (i.e. troubleshoot, install, repair, inspect & dispose). Maintain water & steam systems within the plant. Ensure proper maintenance of facility machinery & building via preventative maintenance work orders & inspections. Maintain inventories of maintenance materials, supplies & repair parts at required levels by initiating requisitions for purchase and periodically reviews inventory for proper upkeep. Recommend, plan, & implement equipment needs to improve production efficiency and/or achieve cost reduction. Complete all training for OSHA compliance, Hazmat and MSDS requirements & regulations (i.e. Lockout/Tagout, Fall Protection/Confined Space, Respiratory Protection, Ammonia Control, Hot Work, Emergency Response and Evacuation, etc.). Must have open availability to work a flexible schedule when production requires including; ability to work entire shift, extended shift hours, weekends, holidays, & required overtime in accordance with Oregon State laws. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum of 3 years of related experience and/or training; Ability to weld/fabricate preferred. Computer skills preferred (excel, word, outlook, etc.). Attention to detail, organization skills, and the ability to solve problems is required. Ability to work all shifts as needed to cover production schedule. Ability to work with limited supervision. Ability to work independently greater than 90% of the workday. Be able to work in a team environment and produce results in conjunction with fellow team members. Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations relative to plant operation and maintenance. Particular emphasis on safety for yourself and others. Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools. High mental and visual effort required. Previous experience operating Forklifts, ability to pass Scenic Fruit Company forklift certification required.

$22.31 - $37.90 per hour
