Job Description

Assistant Superintendent Link Network San Francisco, CA Job Details Full-time $110,000 - $165,000 a year 1 day ago Benefits Health insurance Dental insurance 401(k) Paid time off Vision insurance Life insurance Qualifications Operations management Supplier management Contracts Budgeting ProCore Full Job Description Assistant Superintendent We are representing a well-regarded California general contractor with an active pipeline of HCAI-regulated healthcare and life sciences projects. They are looking for an Assistant Superintendent who is serious about their craft, thrives in technically complex environments, and is ready to step into a larger leadership role in the field. This is a contractor that genuinely develops its field leaders. The goal is to put the right person on a clear path toward running their own HCAI-regulated projects as a full Superintendent.
Who this is for:
An up-and-coming Assistant Superintendent who has been building their reps in the field and is ready for an environment that will accelerate their path to Superintendent, specifically on HCAI-regulated projects.
Bonus if you have:
Experience building wet lab or biotech facilities. Tthink active R D and research lab environments (not dry lab). This client has life sciences work in the mix, and that background will make you stand out immediately.
What You'll Own:
Lead day-to-day field operations across assigned trades or areas, keeping work sequenced, on schedule, and aligned with HCAI inspection and milestone requirements. Know the contract documents cold — scope, schedule, sequence, and the details that keep a complex healthcare or life sciences job moving without surprises. Manage material and equipment delivery coordination for your assigned scope; know what's coming, when, and what the downstream impact is if it doesn't show up. Keep a close eye on field costs — know the budgets, spot variances early, and come with solutions, not just problems. Own safety on your portion of the project — scheduled and unscheduled inspections, hazard recognition at the start of every new activity, and strict ICRA and ILSM compliance in active healthcare and lab environments. Be the face of the project to subcontractors, suppliers, and HCAI inspectors — build relationships that make the job run smoother. Flag schedule risks before they become schedule problems. Proactive communication up and down the chain is expected and valued. Help develop the field talent around you — this company wants leaders who build people, not just projects.
What We're Looking For:
3-6+ years of hands-on field construction experience in healthcare, life sciences, or similarly regulated environments Direct experience on HCAI (formerly OSHPD) projects is required. You understand the inspection process and what compliance actually looks like in practice Wet lab or biotech R D facility experience is a significant plus. Proven ability to direct subcontractors and self-perform crews with accountability and confidence Solid understanding of construction scheduling, contract administration, and field logistics Strong safety instincts and working knowledge of OSHA standards — with real experience applying them in occupied or sensitive environments Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is a plus — but field experience and track record carry more weight here Bonus Points Hands-on
ICRA/ILSM
experience in occupied hospitals or active lab facilities Background in concrete or self-performing heavy construction Comfortable navigating Procore, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, or similar platforms
Pay:
$110,000.00 - $165,000.00 per year
Benefits:
401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Vision insurance
Work Location:
In person
