Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

Possession of a Grade I, II, or III Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator certificate issued by the California State Water Resources Control Board.

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will possess: Strong technical aptitude and a solid understanding of water or wastewater treatment processes. A strong safety mindset and committed to maintaining high operational standards. Hands‑on experience operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting plant equipment (pumps, motors, valves, feeders, meters, SCADA systems). Strong attention to detail and maintains accurate logs, records, and reports. Experience performing routine lab sampling and testing and collaborates effectively with laboratory staff. Excellent communication skills, follows established procedures, and works effectively both independently and as part of a team. Reliability, adaptability, and readiness to perform physical tasks, including facility maintenance and equipment repair. Experience operating heavy equipment safely and competently when required. A commitment to maintain compliance with all applicable regulations, safety protocols, and operational standards.

For Operator II:

Increased independence, broader operational understanding, and sound technical decision‑making.

For Operator III:

Provide lead supervision, trains and mentors staff, coordinates work activities, and contributes to developing goals and procedures.
