Plant Engineering Job Description Summary:
Supervise the performance of the low voltage staff Position Responsibilities Assist with orientation/training of employees. Encourage professional growth and development. Supervise and coordinate tradesmen working in the preventive maintenance, maintenance and construction electrical trades, including but not limited to providing direction, supervision, guidance and technical assistance as needed for power, lighting, emergency generation Estimate time and material for work assignments. Requisition/order materials and equipment required to complete work requests in a timely fashion and develop the scope of work when outside contractors are required. Maintain adequate inventory of plumbing supplies, tools, and parts. Prioritize work and develop work to complete work assignments. Monitor and inspect work assignments to ensure timely completion, compliance with work specifications, codes and regulations. May act as working crew leader as required by project. Maintain all required records and information pertinent to the cost of individual work assignments. Keep all work areas orderly, clean and safe. Assure proper care and use of tools, equipment, and supplies. Coordinates shutdowns related to maintenance and construction Reviews construction documents during design, and provides commends to the Construction Department on all matters related to Generators, ATS and Switchgear Oversees all vendors associated with the Generator Plant and ancilary equipment, including generator service vendor, Fuel Oil vendor, Switchgear vendor, ATS vendor. Ensures tanks are adequately filled and assessing fuel levels ahead of any major weather event or natural disaster. Works with Director of Emergency Management to ensure our campuses prepared. Colloborates with our Utility Service Providers (FPL) and (TECO) on any interruptions, shutdowns and loss of utilites. Maintains a log of outages at our campuses. Oversees MSMC's Generator Service Provider and schedules all testing: Monthly, Annual, and Tri-Annual in compliance per NFPA, TJC, AHCA and all other AHJs. Ensures timely testing and associated documentation is recorded for all generator related equipment such as Motors, ATS, Switchgear, and is in compliance per NFPA, TJC, AHCA and all other AHJs. Ensures timely completion of all Preventative Maintenance is completed for all generator related equipment such as motors, ATS, switchgear Monitors and schedules all Preventative Maintence and Documents Compliance for all fuel systems serving MSMC's generator plant, including Fuel-Oil and Natural Gas and associated equipment in a timely manner. in a timely manner. .Responsible for maintianing all documentation and maintaining complaince for EPA and DERM Annual Inspections. Documentation to be available upon request. Qualifications License/Registration/Certification Journeyman Electrician License Required and Possession of a valid Florida Driver License with no more than 4 points Education Graduate of trade or vocational school with courses in electrical. Completion of apprenticeship. Experience Four years supervising personnel working in the electrical trades.
