Asphalt Paving Systems is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Asphalt Plant Operator to join our team in Zephyrhills, FL. The Asphalt Plant Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the asphalt production plant. This position will monitor plant operations, maintain material quality, identify and address equipment issues, perform routine maintenance, and help ensure the plant operates at peak efficiency. The ideal candidate will have experience in asphalt production, construction, aggregate, mining, or a similar industrial environment and possess a strong commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork. Essential Functions Operate and monitor asphalt production plant equipment safely and efficiently. Monitor production processes and maintain consistent material quality. Monitor plant controls, equipment, and production systems. Identify and troubleshoot equipment and production issues. Perform basic maintenance, inspections, and adjustments on plant equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental requirements.

Education High School Diploma or GED preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience. Experience Minimum of two years of experience in asphalt production, construction, aggregate, mining, manufacturing, or a related industry preferred. Previous experience operating asphalt plants, aggregate processing equipment, or automated industrial equipment is preferred. Mechanical or equipment maintenance experience is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Working knowledge of asphalt plant and industrial processing equipment. Ability to monitor and operate equipment including conveyors, feeders, screens, crushers, silos, mixers, and related plant systems. Ability to recognize unusual equipment conditions and identify potential mechanical or operational problems. Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and take appropriate corrective action. Perform routine equipment inspections, maintenance, lubrication, and basic repairs as needed. Monitor production to ensure the plant is operating safely and efficiently. Maintain proper material quality and production specifications. Ability to follow production schedules and communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members. Basic computer skills and the ability to learn computerized plant control systems. Ability to read and understand safety procedures, operating instructions, and production documentation. Other Requirements Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work station. Will be operating an Astec plant Complete required production, inspection, maintenance, and other records accurately. Comply with all company Safety, Health, Environmental, and other policies, procedures, and requirements. Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to grip, climb, reach, shovel, squat, crawl, bend, push, pull, and lift up to 45 pounds. Must be comfortable working outdoors and exposed to varying and/or extreme weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and wet conditions. Must be willing and able to work overtime, weekends, and a flexible schedule as production needs require. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, including the ability to speak, read, and understand work-related instructions and safety information. Must consistently follow all applicable OSHA, environmental, and company safety requirements.
