Your Role:
Tetra Tech, Inc. is looking for qualified unexploded ordnance (UXO) Technician I on a part time as needed basis. Job assignments are located across the U.S.
Responsibilities:
In addition to being able to fully perform all UXO-Sweep Personnel functions, with direction and supervision from senior UXO-qualified personnel, UXO Technician I personnel may: Reconnoiter and classify UXO and Discarded Military Munitions (DMM); Identify all types of military munitions, including possible fuzes and their condition, armed or unarmed. Examples of these military munitions are: Bombs Guided missiles Projectiles Rockets Land mines and associated components Pyrotechnic items Military explosives and demolition materials Grenades Submunitions Excavate subsurface UXO and DMM; Move and/or consolidate UXO and DMM that has been determined acceptable for movement within a Munitions Response Site (MRS) or Munitions Response Area (MRA), but not over public traffic routes. Transport demolition materials, UXO and DMM that have been determined safe for transport over public traffic routes, when required. Prepare firing systems, both electric and non-electric, for demilitarization operations; Operate personnel decontamination stations; Construct UXO-related protective works; and, Other duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications:
Individual must have OSHA 40-hour training in accordance with
OSHA 29 CFR
1910.120 and be in the medical monitoring program prior to starting on-site work.
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. The individual must meet the minimum Qualifications set forth for a UXOT Tech I in accordance with the current Department of Defense Explosives Safety Board (DDESB) Technical Paper (TP)-18 Minimum Qualifications for Personnel Conducting MEC related activities. The candidate is expected to travel extensively to client sites and/or project locations nationwide as part of their essential duties. Candidate must have valid driver's license in good standing.
