Blunger Operator - Deepstep

SUMMARY OF POSITION

To operate Blunger Operations (980 Cat Front End Loader, Dozier, Stamler Feeder, Blunger, Chemical Systems, Degrit Systems and Crude Transportaton System to the plant) to ensure consistent quality products are produced.

MAJOR DUTIES

• Walk through and inspect equipment for proper operation i.e. spills unusual noise etc.
• Keep mobile equipment greased
• Catch samples according to procedure
• Keep equipment greased and area safe, clean and ensure good housekeeping on your shift daily
• Wash screens as needed and monitor screens to prevent screen runoff
• Perform workplace exams, mobile equipment inspections and report problems as necessary
• Work efficiently with little supervision
• Operation of Heavy Equipment such as Dozers and Front-End Loaders are necessary

SKILL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED
• Satisfactory mathematical and communication skills
• Adequate experience with basic kaolin processing background
• Knowledge of Basic quality control testing methods
• Knowledge of chemical systems and how each is used, how to mix them and how to find information about them in the SDS
• Knowledge of what protective equipment is used
• Knowledge of the water system
• Knowledge of how to make all checks as required by work instructions
• Knowledge of how to identify and change screens as required
• Knowledge of operation of transportation pipeline
• Knowledge of operation of waste and reclaim systems
• Knowledge of site-specific awareness
• Understanding of MSHA rules and regulations
• Knowledge and understanding of basic safety rules and abide by them
• Knowledge of product specifications
• Knowledge of Lockout, Tag Out, and Try Policy
• Knowledge of Confined Space Policy
• Knowledge of how to enter work hours in Vista
