Hands-on experience with GE Mark V and/or Mark VI control systems. Strong understanding of plant startup, shutdown, dispatch response, and safe operating practices.
Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Plant Operator to support operations at gas fired power plants in Georgia. The Plant Operator is responsible for monitoring and operating the facility from the control room while also performing field rounds and equipment inspections to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operation. This position is operations-focused and requires experience operating GE combustion turbines and responding to plant dispatch, alarms, and changing operating conditions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Monitor and operate plant systems using the GE Mark V/VI control system to ensure safe and reliable plant operation. Perform plant startups, shutdowns, load changes, and other operating evolutions in accordance with plant procedures. Conduct routine field rounds, equipment inspections, and operational checks to verify plant performance. Respond to plant alarms, troubleshoot operating issues, and coordinate corrective actions. Operate GE 7EA and/or 7FA combustion turbines and balance-of-plant equipment. Complete operating logs, shift reports, and other required documentation. Support routine maintenance activities, lockout/tagout, and system restoration following maintenance.
Job Requirements :
Experience as a Plant Operator, Control Room Operator, Board Operator, or similar operations role within a power generation facility. Hands-on operating experience with GE 7EA and/or 7FA combustion turbines. Proficiency with GE Mark V and/or Mark VI control systems. Strong understanding of combustion turbine startup, shutdown, and normal operating procedures. Knowledge of plant safety programs including LOTO, confined space entry, and high-energy isolation. Ability to troubleshoot plant operating issues and make sound operational decisions. Education /
Experience :
High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or military power generation experience preferred. 5+ years of experience operating gas-fired power plants.
