Summary:
The Mission of the Idaho Department of Correction ( IDOC ) is to create a model correctional system that provides equitable access to programming and opportunities that reflect community experience, foster connections, and restore victims of crime. IDOC is currently recruiting for an HVAC Systems Foreman to fill a vacancy located at the South Boise Complex in Kuna, Idaho. This working foreman position will require journey-level HVAC and mechanical systems expertise while overseeing daily operations, directing staff, and coordinating maintenance activities. This role will include scheduling and evaluating work, training personnel, managing records and inventories, and performing comprehensive HVAC system/high pressure boiler system inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs.
Responsibilities:
+ These positions are considered working foreman meaning that they must have the skills of a journey-level person in HVAC and mechanical systems operations; plus oversee and direct staff and related daily operational activities in this occupational area. + They schedule work to be accomplished; establish and adjust work schedules to ensure adequate shift coverage; evaluate staff performance; complete time sheets, accident reports, and work orders; coordinate work with contractors to insure it is completed according to agreements; train staff in HVAC and mechanical systems operations and maintenance; maintain operational records and logs; and monitor inventories and request supplies and equipment. + These are expected to perform all aspects of HVAC and mechanical systems operations including: inspecting heating and cooling equipment for proper operation; developing, directing, and performing preventive maintenance of heat plant systems; taking flow readings of water loops and air velocities in ducts to balance HVAC systems; monitoring building and automation systems for HVAC and fire hazards; making computer commands to start and stop fans, pumps, and related systems; checking fans, valves, piping, gauges, sight glasses and indicator lights; monitoring feed and return water pumps, sump and chemical pumps, water softeners, internal and external boiler components, and related electrical systems; maintaining fuel system components; m To view full details and how to apply, please login or create a Job Seeker account
