Job Description

TANK INDUSTRY CONSULTANTS
is looking for qualified tank and structural steel painting inspectors. TIC offers competitive pay as well as health insurance, paid vacation, and one of the best profit-sharing programs in the industry. This job offers an opportunity for extensive travel throughout the United States. Experience in the fields of steel erection, painting, surface preparation, or quality assurance field evaluation is preferred, and NACE Level 1, 2, or 3 Certified is required. TIC will train qualified individuals to the specifics of each job assignment. • Extensive travel and the ability to climb is required. • Primary Function - Perform various field observation functions, as assigned by the Field Services Manger, as assigned according to the individual qualifications, training, and experience. Perform all work in a safe manner, observing all TIC safety policies and safe work practices.
Personnel Requirements:
A driver's license, dependable transportation, and proof of legal automobile insurance are required. If you are afraid of heights this job is not for you.
Training and Experience:
Specialized and general knowledge of various aspects of the tank industry are required. Specifically, knowledge concerning safety at heights, specialized rigging, lead abatement, surface preparation and coating application, and/or tank construction is required.
Physical Requirements:
The work requires a person in good health, capable of climbing elevated structure several times throughout any given day. In addition, significant overtime, unpredictable work schedule, and travel by automobile are required.
Specific Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Able to demonstrate the calibration and use of standard coating inspection equipment. Exhibit good written and verbal communication skills Able to read and understand technical specifications, instructions, and manufacturer's product information. Able to organize project information and document work performed in accordance with information in the "Field Technician Procedure Manual. Able to verify that you have the correct information, documentation, and submittals to perform the work assignment. If you do not have the required information, know how and where to obtain it. Able to attend, participate in, and document project meetings. Able to understand safety requirements of working at heights, evaluate rigging for safe access, and follow safe working habits. Field Technicians are required to pass a general physical examination, and pre-hire and random drug screening in accordance with TIC policies. Field Technicians are required to travel and live away from home for extended periods of time, and work unpredictable hours as required by management and clients. Field Technicians are required to have dependable transportation, and insurance.
