Compensation will be determined based on 260 contract days on the board approved salary schedule (Elementary108/MS-HS 109). This position requires an 8-hour workday.Minimum Qualifications:
High school graduate. Experience in plant operations, facility maintenance and/or custodial duties. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Push, pull or lift 40 pounds; kneel, climb and reach above your head.Performance Responsibilities:
Assists in the selection, assignment, scheduling, evaluation and training of members of the custodial staff. To the extent permitted by maintenance services, regulates heat, ventilation and air conditioning systems to provide temperatures appropriate to the season and to insure economical usage of fuel, water and electricity. Makes requests to maintenance department through Incident IQ for repair work beyond Plant Operator capability so as to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness and efficiency. Monitors the time records of all custodial employees in the school and certifies them for salary payments. Monitors custodial supply inventories and requests supplies, tools and equipment as required by district regulations. Strives to promote the safety, health and comfort of the students and employees. Complies with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of rubbish and waste, including hazardous materials governed by the Federal Hazard Communication Regulation. Develops a staff work schedule to ensure that the building is cleaned to a high degree of excellence. Evaluates the performance of the custodial staff on a regular basis. Conducts normal operational checks of facility functioning and installed equipment. (prepares and submits required report). Provides normal installation and minor repair of classroom/office equipment (including, but is not limited to, pencil sharpeners, brackets, pictures, screens and instructional equipment). Submits normal repainting, spot painting and paint supply requests to Maintenance Department. Monitors condition of storage areas to preclude accumulation of trash and prohibit infestation of vermin and insect pests. Maintains mechanical rooms in a state of cleanliness to insure safety of operation. Maintains a neat and clean building at all times and shovels, plows and/or sand main walks and steps. Provides safety and equipment training with assistance from Maintenance for custodial employees. Clears debris from roofs, gutters and downspouts as needed. Shovels, plows and/or sands/salts walks and steps as needed. Assists principal with after-hour emergencies. Inspects playground areas for hazards and accessibility. Contacts Facilities Department with concerns. Other plant operation duties as may be reasonably assigned by the building principal to assure building functioning and cleanliness.Adopted:
