This position will perform startup and shutdowns of equipment, monitor operating parameters (boiler drum level, turbine vibration, burn rates, emissions, etc.), direct field operators, and ensure overall safe and environmentally compliant operations of the facility. Candidates with power plant experience especially gas turbines are ideal but any background will be considered.
Job Description:
Operate the plant and all associated equipment under the direction of the Plant Manager, utilizing the DCS system to ensure operation within specified parameters. Perform power plant startups, shutdowns, and casualty control safely and efficiently. Monitor plant operations and adjust as needed to optimize performance. Monitor and maintain emissions control equipment, adjusting as necessary to meet State and Federal permits. Troubleshoot equipment failures during operation to assist maintenance technicians in identifying required repairs. Perform proficiency watches outside the Control Room as required and effectively communicate plant status to the Plant Operator and Auxiliary Plant Operator. Maintain a clean and safe Control Room environment. Keep accurate records of plant operations, reviewing and analyzing records for pending failures. Conduct plant startups and shutdowns, as well as weekly and monthly checklists. Train and provide direction to Plant Operators in plant DCS operations. Accurately maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports. Proactively seek responsibility to support the company's business needs. #ENG1
