Bituminous Plant Operator

Job Overview:

Northern Paving Inc is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Plant Operator to join our team. In this vital role, you will oversee the operation of asphalt production. Your expertise will help deliver high-quality asphalt products while maintaining a safe work environment. This is a fast-paced position requiring previous experience in bituminous production, the ability to multi-task and work long hours including weekends. Plant operators also scale aggregates for retail sales.

Required Tasks:

Safely and efficiently operate asphalt plant and scales to stay on track with the production schedule. Coordinate with Truck Drivers (employees, ITO's, and retail customers) delivering and picking up materials from the plant. Perform daily safety inspections, identify maintenance and repair needs; work closely with other employees and mechanics to maintain plant functions and coordinate repairs and maintenance. Work with Quality Control & Testers to ensure correct mix design is being used for the correct projects and it is meeting project specifications and quality standards. Work in all weather conditions, long hours, and weekends. Follow direction of superintendents and administrators. Complete other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch and sit for extended periods of time; lift and carry 50# repeatedly, work overtime hours. A pre-employment physical is required. Understanding and knowledge of asphalt plant operations, materials, and equipment. Strong knowledge of mix properties and factors and the ability to produce a quality product from the given mix design. Strong communication and coordination skills. Proven problem-solving abilities in a fast-paced production environment. Knowledge and focus on safety standards, high quality and efficient plant production. Must have current MSHA safety training or the ability to complete training. Northern Paving is an equal opportunity employer. Pay:

$33.00 - $45.00 per hour
