Job Description
Corrections Utility Plant Operators play a vital role in keeping essential facility systems operating safely and efficiently. In this position you will oversee the functioning, upkeep, and repair of the Institution's utility plant systems and associated equipment by developing and organizing work schedules to maintain optimal coverage while minimizing overtime, thus ensuring the efficient operation of the plant. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that utility plant operators and plant mechanics conduct thorough visual inspections and accurately document any maintenance or repairs carried out on their assigned equipment. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Three years of experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of a steam or hot water generating plant, or a steam and electric generating plant; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
