The IPSC Lead Technician works under general supervision of IPSC supervisor/manager and performs a variety of semi-skilled or skilled tasks in a plant environment which may include inspection, testing, cleaning, maintenance, and repair of customer owned or TSUS equipment including providing lead working assistance to supervisory and manager staff as appropriate. Interfaces with customers regularly. May exercise direct field supervision over crews engaged in service, maintenance and/or repair. Essential Duties:
Coordinates and manages equipment in and out of facility as needs arise. Be able to work as a single person IPSC or as part of a team depending on complexity of work at location. Inspects, tests, and maintains safety equipment per manufacturer's requirements and document service according to TS/customer policies and procedures. Able to perform complex troubleshooting Ensures appropriate inventory levels and stocking of shelves with clean, tested, and ready to use equipment and pulling, staging, and loading customer orders onto trucks for delivery. Maintains work area and other areas in a clean and orderly condition. Performs additional duties as assigned. Proficient in issuing, receiving, tracking, inspecting equipment using company/customer provided software and providing complex reports. Effectively communicates with others and builds rapport with customers quickly. Respond to complaints and resolve problems. Must work safely and adhere to all TS & customer policies and procedures
Skills and Experience:
At least two years of field experience and/or proven ability to lead a work team and/or managing processes and equipment in fire protection, air systems in plant, petrochemical, oil refinery or related industry. Experience will be considered in lieu of formal education. Must have a valid driver's license from state of residence and valid proof of vehicle insurance. Must possess safe driving record and be insurable for Total Safety vehicle insurance while driving company truck. Forklift experience preferred. Must pass internal forklift certification as required. Must have three or more manufacturer's certifications. Certification requirements may be changed based upon years of experience. Ability to perform complex troubleshooting and diagnostics on assigned equipment problems and take corrective action within policy and procedure limitations.
Working Environment:
Plant environment. May be frequently exposed to wet, humid, outside weather conditions and vibration. Works in customer environments. May be exposed to high pressure, chemicals, and plant traffic. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Educational Requirements:
High School diploma or GED. Associates degree, technical or military training strongly preferred.
