Typical Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Ensure city vehicle has supplies and materials necessary to perform job assignments; operate, clean, service, maintain, and perform minor repairs on assigned tools, machinery, equipment, and vehicles. Respond to service calls concerning emergencies or problems on a stand-by basis; work to reduce the state of emergency and correct problems; perform overtime duties as necessary or required to maintain effective and efficient city services. Operate a variety of equipment including pickups, dump trucks, jet rodding machines, brush-hogs, tractors with various attachments, lawnmowers, string line trimmers, and other related maintenance equipment. Work on-call duty and respond to emergency call back as required by supervisor. Check and inspect all water wells, pump stations, lift stations, and related equipment for proper operations. Monitor water pressure in the distribution system; maintains water pressure; operates, and adjusts pumps and machinery, records pertinent information. Maintain equipment, buildings and ground in a clean and orderly manner and performs minor repairs on equipment as required. Monitor pumps and valves and observe flow dials; keeps daily log of shift operations; reads gauges and records information shown. Collect samples of potable water for bacteriological and chemical; adds chemicals to water system in accordance with prescribed standard; Order materials and supplies for operations and maintenance as required and directed. Perform related work as required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Indoor and outdoor work. Level of physical activity is moderate to heavy. Other hazards include possible exposure to dangerous machinery, electrical lines, various driving conditions; inconvenience factors such as emergency calls, extra hours, and irregular hours. Ability to bend, stoop, walk, run, crouch, crawl, sit, and stand. Ability to drive a vehicle to and from various sites. Employee will be exposed to seasonal temperatures and adverse weather while performing duties and may be exposed to mechanical and chemical hazards. Ability to lift materials weighing up to 30 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to walk over sloped and uneven terrain. Work could involve getting dirty and wet. Employee will be exposed to dirt, dust, noises, fumes, poor light, and odors.
CONTACT WITH OTHERS
Daily contact with city employees. Little to no contact with the general public or state officials.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be a United States Citizen. Must hold and maintain a valid Texas driver's license and have and maintain a satisfactory driving record. Ability to communicate (read, write, and speak) effectively in the English language. Formal or informal education or training ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. High School Diploma or GED required.
REQUIRED LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE
Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid state licensure. Texas Driver's License with a good driving record. Must obtain CDL Texas Driver's License within one year of hire.
