Job Description
Responsibilities:
Operate motorized equipment in the construction and maintenance of water and sewer lines, in the installation of new water and sewer services, in the excavation of soil, and the maintenance of stockpiles.Qualifications:
Must have general experience in maintenance and construction work, plus extensive experience in the operation of light, medium, and heavy motorized construction equipment, or extensive experience in maintenance and construction work, plus general experience in the operation of light, medium, and heavy motorized construction equipment is acceptable.Required skills:
- Must possess a valid Virginia driver's license.
- Must possess or obtain within six (6) - twelve (12) months of employment, a valid Class A (combination vehicle) Commercial Driver's License with Tanker Endorsement for vehicles with Air Brakes as a condition of successful job performance and continued employment.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and written, read in English to understand direction and procedures, and to communicate with others.
- Must understand basic mathematics, have mechanical knowledge, and know how to use general hand tools.
- Must have the ability to perform several tasks at the same time, be able to work independently with minimum supervision, and exhibit a positive attitude to effectively deal with the public, agency officials, and co-workers.
