Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

Responsibilities:
Perform routine tasks, necessary tests, and apply sound judgment based upon training and defined operations and maintenance practices related to the processing of water at treatment facilities and/or pump stations.
Qualifications:
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or vocational school. Possess a valid Virginia Driver's License and either possess a valid Class B CDL with H and N endorsements and air brakes or acquire said license within 12 months of hire. Must possess at the minimum a Virginia Waterworks Operator Class 4 license. Must be available to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, on-call, and any combination.
Required skills:
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence legibly. Speak effectively to members of the organization and conduct yourself in a professional manner. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and to draw and interpret line graphs. Ability to calculate percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to solve practical problems and troubleshoot systems. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to operate small office equipment and computers for data entry. Experience with Microsoft Office is preferred. Ability to operate and repair small/light equipment, such as power tools; medium equipment and machinery, such as vehicles, tanker, or generator.
