In this vital role, you will operate specialized equipment to clean, maintain, and service septic tanks efficiently and safely. Your energetic approach will ensure that residential, commercial, and industrial clients receive top-quality service while adhering to safety standards and environmental regulations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, utilize heavy equipment, and be an integral part of maintaining sanitation infrastructure in the community. Duties Operate septic tank pumping trucks equipped with high-capacity vacuum systems to extract waste from tanks efficiently. Conduct site inspections to assess tank conditions and determine the appropriate pumping procedures. Use utility locating tools and mechanical knowledge to identify underground utilities and prevent damage during operations. Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning hoses, checking fluid levels, and troubleshooting mechanical issues with hand tools and power tools. Safely connect hoses and attachments using rigging techniques, ensuring secure connections for effective pumping. Maintain detailed records of each job, including tank locations, volume pumped, and any repairs or issues encountered. Follow all safety protocols related to high voltage, low voltage electrical systems, welding procedures, and climbing safety when accessing tanks or equipment at height. Experience Prior experience operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, excavators, backhoes, bucket trucks, or similar machinery in construction or utility environments. Knowledge of utility locating methods and electrical experience related to construction site work. Familiarity with fiber splicing, cabling, welding, rigging, and mechanical systems is a plus. Hands-on experience with construction site operations involving hand tools and power tools is highly desirable. Strong understanding of safety procedures related to high voltage and low voltage electrical systems. Ability to perform climbing tasks safely when accessing tanks or equipment at elevated heights. Demonstrated ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining a high standard of safety and efficiency.
