Job Summary Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and operate plant in a safe and efficient manner. Operate support equipment as required. Duties include, but now limited to; plant wash-down, operation of control room, maintenance of crushing and conveying equipment. Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Visibly support and champion Peabody's Mission and Values. Act in accordance with and adhere to Safety as a Way of Life Management System. Must be able to pass or have passed a ½ inch plate test both vertical and horizontal. Capable of welding and cutting. Plant washdown, operation of control room, maintenance of crushing and conveying equipment. Plant maintenance, PM and repair functions performed in the plant maintenance area. Demonstrated ability to solve problems and troubleshoot situations arising in the Plant Maintenance area. Conduct safety observations and complete safety interactions monthly. PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum six months experience of plant or mill experience. Prefer computer skills to include
SAP. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERTISE
Knowledge of and ability to operate train load out system. Knowledge of hydraulic and water pumps. Working knowledge of plant systems. Be self-directed and motivated. Ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision. Possess good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to abide by and ensure compliance with all company rules and guidelines and all applicable state and federal laws. Ability to work independently. Ability to work in all types of weather conditions and at different times of day. Ability to work overtime as required by the Company. Ability to train others in plant operations. Surface Environment:
Must have the ability to stand for up to 4 hours per shift Must have the ability to be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles Must have the ability to work from elevated positions, walk/climb up and down stairs/steps and climb on and off equipment and ladders Must have the ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA Must have the ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions (push, pull, twist, handle), and have rapid reflex movements of the arms and legs and good hand to eye coordination Must have the ability to lift/raise 10 – 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance frequently during the course of work shift Must have the ability to work in extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise from low to high, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area The job requires that you be able to work various shifts (required shifts include days, evenings and nights with rotating schedules, weekends and holidays Education High School Degree or GED Equivalent required
