Camera Operator

Job Description

CAMERA OPERATOR / EDITOR

Phoenix, Arizona | Ongoing monthly projects Make work you're proud to put your name on. One project takes you onto a construction site to capture a building taking shape. Another puts you behind the camera for an interview, inside a property worth showcasing, or in the edit shaping a product feature or a piece for television. If you love finding the shot, capturing the moment, and bringing the story together in the edit, we should talk. We're looking for an experienced camera operator and editor to become a trusted part of our production team. We combine aerial and ground filmmaking to show what people build, explain what they do, and tell the stories behind their work. Our projects span interviews, product placement and brand storytelling, construction progress and completed-project showcases, real estate, corporate films, and TV work. Different locations. Different creative challenges. Plenty of opportunities to bring your eye and ideas to the work. Expect around seven full shoot days or 12 half-day shoots per month, depending on the projects, plus approximately 10 edit days. Every month brings a different mix of locations, stories, and creative challenges. That variety is part of what makes this fun. You're welcome to maintain your own freelance clients. We're looking for someone who can accommodate this workload, communicates availability clearly, and follows through on agreed shoot dates and editing deadlines. You'll need:

  • Confident camera operation on a gimbal and sticks, with a strong eye for composition, movement, and coverage.
  • Solid location audio skills, including microphone selection, placement, monitoring, and clean interview recording.
  • The ability to work in Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, and DaVinci Resolve. A Mac workflow is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience editing and delivering 360° video.
  • Fast, organized editing with strong storytelling, pacing, sound, color, and attention to the brief.
  • Ownership of your work, from preparation and file management through revisions and final delivery.

Above all, you take care of the client. You listen. You help people feel comfortable on camera. You welcome useful feedback and understand what the finished piece needs to accomplish. Clients feel looked after, and your teammates know they can count on you. We want your creative judgment, your curiosity, and the satisfaction you get from making something really good. In return, this is an opportunity to build a lasting working relationship, contribute your ideas, and work across a range of projects that keeps you engaged. Interested? Apply through Staff Me Up with your reel, an interview piece, and a 360° editing sample. Tell us what you personally shot and edited, where you're based in Arizona, which editing platforms you use, and your availability for the monthly workload. Let's make work we're excited to show people.
