This role is responsible for preparing and optimizing digital artwork files, producing printing plates, and ensuring accuracy and quality before jobs move to press. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for detail, solid technical knowledge, and experience with both flexographic and offset pre-press processes. Key Responsibilities Prepare, review, and adjust digital artwork for flexographic and offset printing. Perform file conversions, trapping, step-and-repeat, imposition, and color separations. Operate pre-press equipment, including plate-making systems, proofing devices, and RIP software. Ensure artwork meets printing requirements for bleeds, die lines, fonts, barcodes, and color accuracy. Collaborate with designers, press operators, and production staff to ensure smooth workflows. Participate with press approvals. Maintain calibration of proofing devices and ensure consistent color management. Troubleshoot and resolve pre-press issues that could affect print quality or efficiency. Archive and maintain accurate digital job files and proofs. Follow safety standards and contribute to a clean, organized work environment. Qualifications 4+ years of experience in pre-press for flexographic and/or offset printing. Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat). Familiarity with pre-press software such as Esko, ArtPro, or comparable RIP workflows. Solid understanding of CMYK, Pantone, and spot color processes. Experience with platemaking for both flexographic and offset presses. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or degree in Graphic Communications preferred.
