The Pad Printer Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining pad printing equipment used to decorate a variety of products. This position ensures high-quality printed products by maintaining print consistency, color accuracy, and production efficiency while adhering to company quality and safety standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Set up and operate single-color and multi-color pad printing machines. Prepare printing plates (clichés), inks, solvents, and silicone pads for production. Mix inks to match required colors and maintain color consistency throughout production runs. Adjust machine settings to achieve proper registration, print quality, and production speed. Inspect printed products throughout production to ensure quality standards are met. Clean and maintain pad printing equipment, ink cups, pads, clichés, and workstations. Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines and report equipment issues requiring repair. Accurately complete production records, setup documentation, and quality inspection reports. Monitor inventory levels of inks, pads, clichés, solvents, and other consumables. Follow all safety procedures related to chemicals, solvents, and production equipment. Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to improve printing processes and efficiency. Assist in training new operators on proper machine operation and quality standards. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 2+ years of pad printing experience preferred. Experience operating industrial printing equipment in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of ink mixing, color matching, and print registration. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues. Ability to read work orders, production schedules, and technical instructions. Basic computer skills for production tracking and documentation. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced production environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience printing on plastics, glass, metals, wood, or promotional products. Experience with multi-color pad printing systems. Experience using color measurement tools and quality inspection equipment. Physical Requirements Ability to stand for extended periods during the workday. Frequently lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to distinguish colors accurately. Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions.
