ICS Corporation is family-owned direct mail and marketing facility located in West Deptford founded in 1965. Now, more than 50 years later, ICS has flourished by elevating the marketing outreach of some of the nation's largest companies in highly creative and cost-effective ways.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Prepress Technician to prepare customer and internal artwork files for production across both digital and offset printing platforms. This role is responsible for reviewing, editing, and processing files to ensure they meet print specifications, color standards, and production requirements. The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge of prepress workflows, file preparation, color management, imposition, proofing, and print production standards.
Responsibilities :
Review incoming artwork and job files for print readiness, accuracy, and completeness. Preflight files to identify and correct issues related to fonts, images, bleeds, trim, resolution, color space, and layout. Prepare files for both digital press and offset press production. Create and apply impositions based on press format, bindery requirements, and finishing specifications. Generate proofs for internal review and customer approval. Perform color corrections and ensure color consistency using established color management practices. Convert files between RGB, CMYK, and spot color formats as needed. Check separations, overprints, knockouts, and other technical print settings. Prepare optimized files for variable data or short-run digital print jobs when required. Communicate with customer service, sales, programming and quality control to resolve artwork or production issues. Ensure all files are named and organized according to company procedures. Support continuous improvement in workflow efficiency, quality, and turnaround time. Follow company quality standards, safety procedures, and production deadlines.
Qualifications :
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a prepress, print production, or related role. Expert knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat) and Enfocus PitStop. Understanding of, file pre-flighting, imposition, color correction, CMYK and spot color workflows, bleeds, trim, slug, and safe areas, resolution requirements for print and PDF creation and optimization Familiarity with various print processes: offset, digital, wide-format, etc. Understanding of digital color management, ICC profiles, and calibration processes. Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Proven ability to manage tight deadlines and multiple job queues simultaneously.
Valued Qualifications :
Experience with Fiery Command WorkStation, imposition software (e.g., Impostrip, Preps), or VDP tools like Quadient Inspire Designer. Familiarity with automation workflows (e.g., Enfocus Switch, hot folders, scripts). Background in on-demand printing, personalized marketing, or direct mail production.
