The Santa Fe New Mexican is seeking a Prepress Technician to join our production team and help bring our daily newspaper and commercial print jobs to life. Our compensation and benefit package is competitive. We're a Family Friendly employer with some staff that have been with us for over 30 years! You'll be: Building and paginating jobs for daily newspaper and commercial print production Downloading files from FTP site and entering them into our pagination system Reviewing files, checking CMYK separations, and approving for printing Operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining plate-making equipment including CTP image-setters, processors, benders, and printers Communicating between departments and with commercial customers to address compatibility and formatting issues You need: High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree preferred) Proficiency with Mac OSX and PC platforms (Mac experience preferred)
Adobe Creative Suite:
InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat, Illustrator, and Distiller Knowledge of CMYK output for printing Strong communication skills for customer interaction Ability to lift up to 50 pounds daily If you: Have a sharp eye for detail and quality Take pride in producing something tangible every day Work well with both internal teams and external customers Want to be part of one of the oldest newspapers in the West Thrive in a fast-paced production environment The New Mexican is an equal opportunity employer and a Family Friendly business.
