We are seeking a skilled and experienced Large Format Print Operator to join our printing team. As a Large Format Print Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining large format printers and related equipment to produce high-quality prints for various applications. Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and commitment to meeting deadlines will be crucial in ensuring the successful execution of print projects.Responsibilities:
- Operate large format printers, including setup, calibration, and adjustments, to produce high-quality prints according to job specifications and client requirements.
- Prepare and process files for printing, including color correction, image resizing, and formatting, using graphic design software and RIP (Raster Image Processor) software.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on printers and other equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
- Monitor and inspect printed materials for quality control, making adjustments as necessary to maintain consistent print quality throughout the production run.
- Collaborate with the design team and clients to understand project requirements, including print sizes, materials, and finishing options.
- Assist in material selection and loading, including handling and preparing various substrates, inks, and other consumables for printing.
- Maintain inventory of printing supplies and materials, and coordinate with vendors for timely replenishment.
- Adhere to production schedules and meet project deadlines, ensuring efficient workflow and timely delivery of print orders.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper disposal of waste and recycling materials.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new printing technologies, and software advancements to continuously enhance skills and improve print quality and efficiency.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certification in graphic design, printing technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience as a Large Format Print Operator or in a similar printing role.
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining large format printers, such as Latex flatbed printers, roll-to-roll printers, or dye-sublimation printers.
- Strong technical knowledge of pre-press and printing processes, color management, and RIP software.
- Proficiency in RIP software (e.g., Caldera, Onyx, Fiery).
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to detect and correct print quality issues.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to address mechanical and operational printing issues.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients.
