Commonwealth Print and Mail Services OSD is seeking a
  • Digital Print Operator
  • to join the Commonwealth Print and Mail Services team in Chelsea, MA.
In this role, you will operate high-speed digital printers and print/mail production equipment to produce quality output while meeting strict production deadlines. You'll work in a fast-paced production environment where teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality are essential. The primary work location for this role will be 200 Arlington Street Chelsea, MA 02150. The work schedule for this position is Saturday - Wednesday, 5am-1pm. Schedules are subject to change based on the operational needs of the business. All offers of employment for this position are conditional and subject to passing: a Massachusetts Criminal Background Check (CORI), a security clearance (fingerprinting) consistent with IRS and/or public safety requirements, and security training.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate high-speed digital printers, inserters, and print/mail production equipment.
  • Verify print quality and ensure jobs are completed accurately and on time.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and report production issues.
  • Monitor production using management software and maintain accurate production records.
  • Support other print/mail operations as needed while maintaining a safe, organized work area. Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience operating digital print or production equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues and maintain accurate records.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented production environment.

Minimum entrance requirements:
Applicants must have at least (A) two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in electronic data processing work, the major duties of which included the operation of the console of a computer and/or the peripheral devices used in support of computer operations, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.
Substitutions:
I. An Associate's degree or higher with a major in the field of data processing may be substituted for one year of the required experience. II. A diploma for completion of a one year full-time, or equivalent part-time, program in a recognized non-degree granting business or vocational/technical school above the high school level with a major in the field of data processing may be substituted for one year of the required experience.

An official transcript from a recognized business or technical/ vocational school as evidence of completion of a program consisting of at least 650 hours of instruction in computer programming/operation may be substituted for one year of the required experience. IV. Graduation from the data processing course of a recognized vocational/technical high school may be substituted for one year of the required experience. Education toward such a degree or diploma will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
