Job Description
A Shipping Scanner Operator is responsible for scanning orders as directed by the shipping supervisor. The operator is responsible for efficient and accurate scanning practices. The operator will ensure orders are scanned and shipped on time.
Key Responsibilities:
Scanning Operations:
The operator is responsible for efficient and accurate scanning practices. Scan orders as directed by the supervisor.Accuracy:
Ensure orders are confirmed accurately and are 100% complete for shipping.Completeness:
Confirm boxes & pick demands are marked with weights & are numbered.Scanning Station :
Keep scanning station clean & stocked with required supplies.Teamwork:
The operator will work with other shipping personnel, ensuring scanning operations adhere to standard operating procedures.Inventory Management:
Assisting with inventory control, Communicate with Supervisor or as needed with the Physical Inventory Specialist or Finished Inventory Specialist about product discrepancies.Documentation:
Maintaining accurate shipping documentation, such as manifests and shipping labels.Safety and Compliance:
Ensuring adherence to safety protocols and relevant regulations.Problem-Solving:
Identifying and resolving shipping-related issues, ensuring timely and accurate shipping.Communication:
Communicating effectively with shipping supervisor and shipping pickers.Quality Control:
Inspecting shipments to ensure accuracy and quality.Efficiency and Improvement:
Identifying areas for improvement in shipping processes and workflows.Load Planning:
Assisting in planning the loading of trucks to ensure efficient space utilization and secure transportation.Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to read orders.
- Ability to pick orders as needed and requested.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
