Job Description
Description Bring designs to life! We're looking for a detail-driven Prepress Technician to ensure every project is press-ready, color-perfect, and delivered with precision from screen to print. A Prepress Technician prepares client files for press layouts and final print production. Create layouts using Kodak Preps software for jobs as they are produced on designated presses. Use plate setter to image plates as the press schedule dictates on a day to day basis. Edit files using Adobe Acrobat and Adobe InDesign based on client and internal requests. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Image plates according to job specifications Read and understand a job ticket as it applies to Prepress and Print Production Create/build layouts for jobs running on specific presses Prioritize what needs to be done based on the schedule on a daily basis Edit customer files as requested/needed Create Pdfs for customer approval Output proofs using large format ink jet proofers Troubleshoot equipment issues to keep machines running. Provide written communication regarding job issues to the department Requirements To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience in Prepress or Graphic Arts related preferred but not required Effective communications skills with other departments such as Customer Service and Pressroom Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Must have the ability to work effectively in stressful situations and meet stringent deadlines Be organized and able to plan, prioritize and follow through on projects assigned with minimal supervision Has basic computer skills Mittera is a leading-edge company that provides commercial and digital printing, finishing, graphic design, data analytics, direct mail processing, and fulfillment services.
