Job Description

Metal Stamping Press Operator JENNMAR has an opening for a Metal Stamping Press Operator in Louisville, KY. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Steel Fabricator to join our team. This hands-on position is responsible for supporting the fabrication process through manual and machine operations, material handling, basic quality checks, and shop maintenance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Setup and operation of 1000-ton stamping presses, steel roll benders, and hydraulic ironworkers. Review blueprints, work orders, tooling instructions, and technical specifications to determine required materials, dies, die shims, dimensions, tolerances, and operational sequences. Collaborate with supervisors and cross-functional departments to optimize the flow of raw materials in alignment with the production schedule. Conduct quality inspections using measurement tools such as gauges, calipers, squares, and tape measures to ensure product compliance with specifications. Provide feedback to team members and management to enhance workplace safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives. Perform routine preventative maintenance, including lubrication, cleaning, and basic part replacements, to maintain press functionality and minimize downtime. Assist with additional tasks assigned to support overall production goals. Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment)
Skills and Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience in steel fabrication and/or die setting (preferred) OSHA 10 or 30 certification (preferred) Ability to read a tape measure accurately to the 1/16th of an inch (written test required). Experienced in reading and interpreting blueprints. Proficient in the operation of PLC controlled equipment. Strong math, verbal, and literacy skills Skilled in using a wide range of steel fabrication tools, including but not limited to: Grinder, bander, drill, hammer, pliers, screwdriver, wrench, saw, shear, press brake, roller, plasma cutter, laser cutter. Proficient in operating forklifts, overhead cranes, and conveying systems. Solid understanding of steel shapes, grades, and sizes. Able to understand, communicate, and perform complex tasks independently along with strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Demonstrates excellent collaboration skills, a strong work ethic, and contributes to training and team development while being reliable and consistent in attendance and job performance. Willingness to work occasional overtime based on production needs. Capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling at least 50 lbs. and can maneuver in tight spaces and safely handle heavy equipment. Committed to working safely and following general and job-specific instructions by abiding by all company and OSHA rules and regulations
Available Schedule:
Four 10-hour days. Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:30pm Overtime is available Overtime on Fridays may be necessary to fulfill production schedules #IND55
Job Type:
Full-time Base Pay Range:
$20.85 per hour minimum depending on experience.
