Activar's Construction Products Group (ACPG) is hiring an Experienced Press Brake Operator at our Eden Prairie sheet metal shop. This is a Full-Time position offering stability, a comprehensive benefits package, excellent training, inspiring management, and strong team environment.

Hours:

Weekends Friday, Saturday & Sunday, 5:00am - 5:30pm

Pay:

up to $28.00 /hr. DOE, our weekend shift (Fri-Sun) also pays an 11.11% premium of your base hourly wage. If you transfer from weekend shift, you will no longer be eligible for the premium rate (weekend rates with the extra 11.11% would be up to: $31.11/hr). Weekly opportunities often available to pick up additional overtime hours!

POSITION PURPOSE

The position is responsible for operating a power brake that bends, punches, forms, rolls, arcs, or straightens metal sheets, plates and bars according to job specifications. The Press Brake Operator accurately and efficiently completes orders to establish procedures and quality standards.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Operate machines to ensure the highest quality of production is achieved.
• Perform fabricating operations of sheet metal products according to specifications.
• Position work manually and align layout marks to dies, including changing dies as required per order specifications.
• Make adjustments/align per order specifications on machines.
• Inspect work for conformance to job specifications, using rule, square, or templates.
• Review daily manufacturing functions and job orders to ensure awareness of requirements.
• Obtain necessary materials and tools required to achieve expected run rates.
• Ensure the safe operation of equipment.
• Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Report immediately to supervisor/lead/manager any and all problems, which may affect safety, equipment, tooling, and/or quality.
• Maintain full working knowledge of all processes.
• Ensure a clean and organized work environment.
• Conduct himself/herself in a professional manner in accordance with company guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Understanding of all tools, gages, equipment, and other various instruments used to perform position.

• Skill in performing accurate arithmetic functions involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; using decimals, percentages, fractions, and ratios.
• Basic mechanical principles of machine setups, operations, and materials.
• General knowledge of sheet metal fabricating and assembly practices.
• Some knowledge with programming is necessary for operation and calibration.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required:

• Two plus years of experience in a relevant manufacturing setting.
• Recent Press Brake and Press Brake Set-up experience required.
• Equivalent of high school diploma or G.

E.D. certification.
