The position involves operating CNC forming and cutting equipment, interpreting shop drawings, completing accurate setups, and verifying finished work against specifications. Duties Operate and set up CNC metal-forming equipment, including a press brake and related backgauge system. Operate CNC plasma-cutting equipment for sheet and light-gauge plate components. Review engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and welding symbols before production. Determine appropriate tooling and forming sequences for individual jobs. Make necessary machine or program adjustments to achieve required dimensions and part geometry. Compensate for material characteristics such as bend allowance and springback. Inspect initial pieces and perform dimensional checks throughout production. Maintain consistent workmanship while following established quality and safety procedures. Qualifications At least three years of hands-on metal fabrication experience. Demonstrated experience setting up and operating CNC press brakes and plasma cutting equipment. Experience fabricating components from carbon steel and stainless steel. Comfortable working with relatively thin sheet and light plate materials, approximately 16 gauge through 3/16 inch. Ability to accurately interpret fabrication drawings and shop documentation. Capable of working with limited supervision and managing individual assignments from setup through completion.
Pay:
From $26.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
