Hardware Insertion Technician

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Hardware Insertion Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing PEM style hardware into sheet metal parts, as well as countersinking holes on said parts.

Responsibilities:

• PEM style hardware insertion using a dedicated hardware press.
• Drill press / mill operation for countersinking sheet metal parts.
• Reading and interpreting mechanical drawings to ensure correct insertion of hardware and correct countersink size, location, and direction.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent;
• Operator capable of performing skilled work in set up and operation of an PEM style hardware insertion press.
• Must be able to read and interpret mechanical drawings or fabrication prints as needed for accurate and safe hardware insertion and countersinks.
• Applicant must be able to follow work order directions and safely produce required quantity of parts efficiently and within the required tolerance and cosmetic quality.
• Applicant is required to perform inspection on own work to prove required hardware insertion and cosmetic requirements are met before submitting to Department Lead or QC for monitoring.
• Must understand how to fill out and use simple SPC reports as directed.
• Must perform light level daily maintenance on hardware insertion press.
• Experience with PEM insertion a plus
• Experience running a manual mill / drill press a plus.
• Experience finishing precision sheet metal parts for powder coat post weld is a plus.
• Experience Operating Water Jet Table a plus.
