Job Type:
Full-Time Schedule is Mon-Fri 2:15 PM - 10:45 PM Most employees start between $25.78-$28.14/hour. The higher end of the range, $30.50/hour, is reserved for candidates with exceptional experience or qualifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Actively participate in Seaport Steel's safety program. Accurate interpretation of information provided by the customer. Filling customer orders accurately. This entails ensuring the correct material is used, the correct quantity is supplied, and the dimensions that pertain to the brake are within tolerance. Maintain the records of completed orders. Operate a press brake machine following the project details and blueprints. Must also be able to set up the machine for bending sheet metal. Programming experience is preferred. Candidates without full programming experience must be able to make minor program adjustments. Observe machine operation to verify the accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining. Inspect the "first part", consult with quality assurance, and inspect workpieces throughout the production run for out-of-tolerance machining. Using precision measuring instruments such as micrometer and dial caliper; ensure quality products are produced according to project specifications. Comply with all applicable occupational safety and health regulations. Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required. Education and Experience Associate's degree or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school, 4 plus years related experience and./or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
