Job Description Position Title:
Brake Press Set-Up Operator Wage:
$28.00/hour The Brake Press Setup Operator in Milwaukee, WI is responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC and manual press brakes to bend, form, and shape metal parts according to engineering drawings and customer specifications. This role ensures quality, safety, and production efficiency while maintaining equipment and work areas.
Brake Press Set-Up Operator Responsibilities:
  • Set up and operate press brake machines according to job specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, and measuring instruments
  • Select and install appropriate tooling, dies, and machine programs
  • Verify material type, thickness, and dimensions before production
  • Perform first-piece inspections and make adjustments as needed to meet quality standards
  • Monitor production runs and inspect finished parts for accuracy and compliance
  • Troubleshoot machine and tooling issues to minimize downtime
  • Maintain accurate production and quality records
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping duties Requirements for
Brake Press Set-Up Operator:
  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Experience setting up and operating CNC press brakes
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
  • Proficiency with calipers, micrometers, protractors, and other measuring tools
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended period
